My thoughts on yaoi...I mean, the LOST season finale
So Jordin's the next American Idol. Good for her. Bad for Blake. Oh well. I only watched half of it anyway. The rest of the time I was too busy watching LOST.
So, basically what I have to say here can be summed up in one word. And that word is CHARLIEEEEEEEE. Not like "we're going to Candy Mountain Charlieeeeeeee!" but like CHARLIE'S DEAD ;_; ;_________; I thought he was safe because of last episode, but aaaaagh HE DIED. (I really hate Patchy now.) It's weird because Charlie was the only reason I began watching LOST in the first place. If soon after I started watching he died, I probably would have just given up, but now I have all these other people and stuff to care about. It's so darn complicated. :(
At least his last moments with Desmond were appropriately shippy, even if there was the whole thing with Penny. Don't get me wrong, I like Penny. She and Desmond are so right it's maddening. But I also like Desmond/Charlie a whole lot, and I don't quite think this would lend itself to a threesome. And, heck, it's never gonna be canon now (unless necrophilia comes into play whut) (or Desmond finally realizes what Charlie meant to him and angsts a lot) (or, y'know, some kinda supernatural encounter...ooh, plotbunnies), so let me dream. :(
At least there's finally some Charlie/Desmond up at ff.net, yay! Still not as much as Charlie/Sawyer (who barely interact, whut), but what there is is good. So I'm happy. Speaking of Sawyer, the episode had a little something to appeal to my inner Jawyer fangirl. (Juliet ships them. ^_^) And when Jack said he loved kate, for a second I thought he was saying he loved Sawyer, and I'm like IT'S CANON?!?1one? But alas, it was not to be.
In other news, Hurley was awesome as ever. He was the total hero of this episode. It's like with the car and WHSSH BAM whoo! YOU ROCK, HURLEY. Also, I'm so glad Alex and Rousseau finally met face-to-face. I was waiting for that moment since we met Alex, so yay for that.
And what was up with that flash-forward? My dad and I discussed it and concluded that they do get rescued, but everyone but Jack is somehow brainwashed, which is why no one goes to the funeral (which is presumably that of one of our guys). Kate, although brainwashed, still trusts Jack, so she's not sure what to do. And they have to go back because those of our guys who were on the beach didn't get rescued, because Desmond told them that it wasn't Penny's boat. So Jack wants to go back to rescue them. The only thing that doesn't fit is that Jack's dad is still alive, but maybe he wasn't even dead - remember the events of "White Rabbit"? And this episode was called "Through the Looking-Glass". That's gotta be more than coincidence.
Also I seriously want to make a Charlie/Desmond video to my current music.
EDIT: So what I was gonna say was if they go back, that would be a way for them to get rescued but not to end the show. That's pretty clever.
Also, did anyone else notice where Desmond was hiding? THE CLOSET. :DDD (Okay, so it was more of a locker. But close enough, really.)
EDIT II: Also, my dad found out that "Hoffs/Drawlar", the name of the funeral home, is an anagram for "flash-forward". Haha awesome.
