So, hey guys. I know I haven't posted in about seven months. I'm sorry if anyone was worried about me (although I don't think anyone was, because I've been very active on tumblr and AIM and elsewhere during that time, but you never know). The reason for this absence is, well, kind of embarrassing. It is simply that I just couldn't write the next 100 things post. After taking so long since the last one, I didn't want to make a new post without having it be an 100 things one. But I kept staring at the compose draft page and nothing very interesting was coming out. So I kind of... dropped off the face of Dreamwidth and LJ altogether. (Well, except for fandomsecrets.) It's been long enough, though. So I guess this is a notice that my 100 things is on hiatus until I can bang out a post that's reasonably good. Sorry about that, y'all.

Now I've got to give an explanation for this post I'm making now. I have, as some do, a paper journal, in which I chronicle those of my thoughts that are too embarrassing, ridiculous, or personal for the outside world. A fair bit of fandom stuff makes its way in there too, and so as I've been rewatching JCA recently, I ended up writing down my thoughts on the episodes in said journal, in something of a livebloggy fashion. I just finished season 1 yesterday, and while looking over the notes I'd been taking, I realized that there was nothing too too personal in there, and that they contained a lot of thoughts I wouldn't mind sharing. I've recently been connecting with a bunch of JCA fans on tumblr (active JCA fans exist!! And they are cool people!!! ♥), and so I thought hey, if I typed up this liveblogging I did, there might be people around who'd want to read it. So I did, and maybe there are! (I should probably tell you now that it's missing four episodes, so you hopefully won't be too disappointed if you were expecting all 13. I watched them; I just didn't write about them. ._.;; Also, just so you're aware, it's quite long! But it's all bullet points, so hopefully it's not too much of a pain to read. c:)

Warnings: This liveblog wasn't written with anyone in mind except myself. The following has therefore been slightly modified from its original version. It has been formatted to fit your screen, and also with the intent of excising irrelevant stuff and making me seem like slightly less of a creeper. It still contains some NSFW talk (though nothing graphic), discussion of a pretty pedo ship, fetishization of vulnerability, fangirling in amounts that are possibly unhealthy and definitely embarrassing, and a higher-than-usual incidence of the letter V. If any of that bothers you, you should turn around now.

So apparently in the Baccano! DS game you can make two of the dudes get married. Two dudes who are both psycho killers and also enemies. In 1930s America. And it's adorable. Here's the scene (WARNING: spoilers) and accompanying screenshot. Ffffff. And now I ship it.

Also I finished Baccano! yesterday (with ocelotofdoom). Um. It's pretty amazing. The characters (so many characters). The train fights. The masterfully interlocking storylines. The heartwarming (yes, there is, actually, buckets of it.) The dub. Y'all definitely ought to watch it, if you haven't already. A few people to squee with wouldn't go amiss. :D

Anyway that is my excuse as to why I did not do the Digimon meme yesterday. Luckily, the next two days kind of go together, so I will do them as a unit.

This seems like as good a time as any to talk about Pokémon Black! :D So after a harrowing bus trip and a ridiculous amount of rain, I was finally able to sit down and play for a couple hours. I've only just beaten the first gym and caught my sixth Pokémon, so this is my team right now:

yes I know it is the most basic team you can have shut up. I'm mainly just amused by the fact that all of them except Seymour are girls. He's accumulating himself quite the harem. :P I wonder how long it will be until I catch another dude. He will be the gay option.

Thoughts on the game itself: I strongly dislike the translation. All the dialogue seems so awkward and forced. Bring back Nob Ogasawara please. ;_; Not a huge fan of the graphics either, though I suppose I'll get used to them eventually. But the whole 3D, dynamic camera thing just... doesn't feel like Pokémon to me. Also Poké Mart in Pokémon Center and reusable TMs wuuut ruined forever. But I'm aware I'm just whining, so, anyway. Time to get in another hour or so before bed. :B

EDIT: Oh man, they finally made the Pokémon's eyes close when they fall asleep. Coolness estimation revised slightly upward.

I continue to be caught up with most of my responsibilities. It is a ridiculous feeling. I am taking this chance while I still have some homework for tomorrow to procrastinate and LJ post. Can't let myself get too complacent.

So now I will talk about a topic very near and dear to my heart: gym leader names. As many of you know, the English names of the Gen V gym leaders (and a couple other characters) were recently released and confirmed by several reputable sources. Although Bulbapedia, the be all and end all, has not yet confirmed them, they're looking pretty official. Personally, I have mixed feelings, but mainly negative ones, which I will elaborate upon in this very journal!

Speaking of Pokémon, I'm almost done with the requests from last post. Sure were a lot of Electric Pokémon. :B Requests are still open if anyone wants one! Just putting that out there.

Okay now I will do homework. Or eat, or something.

I know I haven't been posting in forever. I'm sorry. It's like I don't even know what to say anymore. I haven't been doing much fandom stuff at all (except reading Shakespeare :B), so the only thing I can really talk about is my life. And my life right now is college. So you get to hear about college.

Okay first I want to say hi to everyone from the F!S friending meme, because this is the most friends I've ever made on one meme. So hey there, altarii, demiincarnate, luzerna, mireia_antonina, pana, sexyblack, and wraithi. You're pretty cool. :D

Next, thoughts on Pokémon Gen V stuff, which is totally not several days old what are you talking about.

Starters: The green one is amazing. I love its snooty little snout and those lidded eyes. So cute. The pig is crazy adorable too; I'd totally start with that if the green one hadn't stolen my heart. I dunno about the otter; I love the freckles, but not the nose. So yeah.
(Also I don't care if they have names. They are "the pig", "the otter", and "the green one" until I say different. :|)

Trainers: Their hair! ♥ It's about time we got some player characters with poofy hair. I especially love the girl's ponytail and how it fans out behind her when she runs. But really, they're both majorly cute. I'd have trouble choosing if I didn't always play as the girl. :P

If Gen V continues in this vein I think I'm going to like it. :D

On the bright side, the voices are perfect, especially Dondochakka's. Well, I'm still not in love with Grimmjow's, or the fact that his name is pronounced "Greemjow", and Nel's voice sounds a little too old for her, but whatever. At least we finally got to hear Szayel, whose voice I am going to marry, kthx. :B

Speaking of Disney movies (we were doing that, right?): I know I'm a loser who only saw about four* of them during her childhood proper, and it's really sad that it took me until yesterday to watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But dang, that is a good movie. I think it just elbowed its way right in there under The Lion King as one of my favorite Disney movies. I mean, the music alone is excellent, but then you add in the characters and the plot and everything, and, wow. Suffice it to say that it's becoming my latest short-term obsession. And I need to acquire the soundtrack. OF COURSE I DON'T NEED TO TELL YOU GUYS THIS STUFF THOUGH BECAUSE YOU ALL HAD NORMAL CHILDHOODS. 8D (Although I have no idea how this movie got away with a G rating. IMO some of the stuff it deals with really isn't for kids. Which, y'know, is part of why I like it. But anyway.)

* Three if you don't count The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as an actual movie.

Also, since I may not get a chance to post something later, I'm leaving again tomorrow for vacation. I'll be back next Tuesday. And then school starts. =_=
