Hey guise! So [livejournal.com profile] gulf_aid_now is a relief comm like [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti but for the Gulf oil spill. I noticed it hasn't been getting a lot of attention so far, so here I am pimping it out. I know a bunch of you guys have pretty sweet skills, especially in art and writing, so you could maybe offer some stuff. And those without skills (like me) can always bid on what's there. I got some pretty excellent art at [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti, and it all goes to charity, so. Just trying to get the word out. :D

Also I found this cool new webcomic it is called Questionable Content. *continues weeklong archive binge*

DO YOU WANT TO HEAR ME BEING SUPER LATE TO THE PARTY AGAIN AS USUAL

SURE YOU DO

So I spent today, after sleeping in really late and only waking up in time for anime club, watching children's cartoon shows that I wish had been around when I routinely watched children's cartoon shows. Which would of course be Phineas and Ferb and Adventure Time. The former is clever and full of musical numbers (and makes me ship het >:|), and the latter is delightfully surreal and unironic. And has Bender in it. I know everyone already loves those two shows, but if you do not, then you should watch them and you will. Promise.

Also the reason I was so tired in the first place was because I spent all Monday night not getting any sleep at the post-graduation party. Graduation was exciting and depressing, which I guess is how things like that usually are. The party was basically just loud and reminded me that I am never staying up all night again, but they did play "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" at the end, which was so not fair. ;_; I WILL MISS EVERYONE.

Also while we are at it club reminded me that I miss Toonami. ;_;

*begins wasting the rest of her summer*

Once again demonstrating my skills at watching things way too late, I saw The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack for the first time today. I doubt I'm the first person to say this, but that thing is like SpongeBob on drugs. It's... weirdly entertaining. I may watch more.

Also, stuff.

Okay, yes, I realize it's a little late in the day for this, but Merry Christmas! Hope y'all have/had a good one. :D

So I am doing an unprecedented thing and actually trying to watch a whole anime on my own time! This is because I have found Genshiken and it is wonderful and awesome. I mean, it's a slice-of-life about nerd life. They don't get much more awesome than that. It is also giving me a great opportunity to practice my Spanish because those were the only subs I could find ._.;;. So yeah, I'm going to try to finish that over the vacation. My current rate's three episodes a day, so I should be all right. I just wish there were more fanworks. :| Also I am totally kind of crushing on Madarame a lot. And also I sorta ship Madarame/Sasahara liek woah.

Also, started playing Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. It's really hard but really fun, and I'm attempting to beat it without losing anyone. Which... is impossible, because it's Fire Emblem. But darn if I'm not going to try.

Things that have made me ridiculously happy in the past 24 (more or less) hours:
- Hetalia Day 2009 with my dork friends
- Seeing the Astro Boy movie immediately afterward with said dork friends
- Szayel's dub voice fffffff
- The answer to the New York Times acrostic (if you've done it you'll know why)

Also, I have been playing Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia a whole lot lately. (And I still have to actually pay Momo for it at some point. ._.;;) I really like this game. It's not a "true" Pokémon game, sure, but it's gotten me to care about the storyline and characters more than any other Pokémon game's done. And the writing is hilarious. If any Pokémon fans out there are looking for something to occupy themselves while waiting for HG/SS, you could really do a lot worse.

Speaking of Disney movies (we were doing that, right?): I know I'm a loser who only saw about four* of them during her childhood proper, and it's really sad that it took me until yesterday to watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But dang, that is a good movie. I think it just elbowed its way right in there under The Lion King as one of my favorite Disney movies. I mean, the music alone is excellent, but then you add in the characters and the plot and everything, and, wow. Suffice it to say that it's becoming my latest short-term obsession. And I need to acquire the soundtrack. OF COURSE I DON'T NEED TO TELL YOU GUYS THIS STUFF THOUGH BECAUSE YOU ALL HAD NORMAL CHILDHOODS. 8D (Although I have no idea how this movie got away with a G rating. IMO some of the stuff it deals with really isn't for kids. Which, y'know, is part of why I like it. But anyway.)

* Three if you don't count The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as an actual movie.

Also, since I may not get a chance to post something later, I'm leaving again tomorrow for vacation. I'll be back next Tuesday. And then school starts. =_=

P.S. Apparently in Japanese, the @ sign is known as "naruto". This should not be so funny.
