So, uh. Dom Monaghan and Megan Fox beating each other up and making out in an Eminem music video. This is just kind of amazing to me. Song also contains the excellent line "Now you get to watch her leave out the window, guess that's why they call it window pane." Mr. Mathers how did I even survive the past few years without your music.
yes I like Eminem shut up

Also it seems like these Hunger Games books everyone's talking about are written by the lady who did the Underland Chronicles, whose name I'd shamefully forgotten. (Suzanne Collins.) Those books were super cool and underappreciated. I may have to read her new thing now.

Umm. I finally drew that genderswap. It was bad. Not much else to talk about. Maybe I do need to start up another 30 day meme. OTL

EDIT: Oh wait, Pokémon update. Got to Indigo Plateau, benched my Jynx, caught a Heracross instead. Am currently level-grinding and rock-smashing. It's slow work. I'll get there one of these days.

Camp was fun and I miss it. So many cool people. So many cool stuff. ;_;

I would like to apologize for not posting the birthdays of, among others, David Wenham (41 on September 21st), Tom Felton (19 on September 22nd), and Mark Hamill (55 on September 25th). I've been getting around to posting this for a while, so...yeah.

- My friend Monkey. We were watching Forrest Gump yesterday, and that's one of the things he came up with. We also developed a fascination with the words (try and imagine these in an Alabama accent) "Forrest Gum*p*", "mud" (and houses made of mud that were "dirt cheap"), "Viet-nam" (flat a), and "Greenbow, Ala-BAMA!", as well as helicopters and Lieutenant Dan looking like/being a pirate.

...In other news, I'm going to Anime Boston today with HG and Shad and some others, and Christopher Lee turns 84. Because Christopher Lee is actually me, because I'm Saruman, so that also makes me Count Doofus Dooku. But I'm also Darth Maul (and presumably, by extension, Ray Park) and Harrison Ford and Mos Def. Oh, and Rupert Grint, which makes me Ron, which makes me Dumbedore, which makes me Dom, which is so weird that I am going to stop thinking about it right now.

Whoo! Taylor's the new American Idol! Well, if it couldn't be Elliott, Taylor was my next choice. Actually, my ideal final showdown would have been Elliott and Mandisa, but y'know, whatever. Also, I have realized that I find Bucky Covington good-looking. This disturbs me. I think it's the scruffy.

Sadly, I did not watch the Lost season finale. Bad me. But I have good reason: the only episodes I've seen in full are the first eight of season 1, so I don't want to spoil too much, and the finale would probably contain a huge amount of spoilers. Plus half of it was too late for me to watch anyway. I did watch during Idol's commercial breaks, but I didn't see anything involving Dom. Oh well. Maybe I can catch up before the next season.

This post coincides with the birthday of SIR Ian McKellen, who turns 67 and who has 2 recent movies that are either out or coming out soon or both (I don't know, I'm not going to watch them. No offense, Sir Ian). So, um, O.A., you might want to celebrate, seeing as you're Gandalf and all.

Elliott (the hobbit) got out! How did he get out? He should have won, I mean seriously. Well, if Chris didn't win, but he shouldn't have gotten out either. Katharine should have. Gotten out, I mean. I don't like her anymore. Bleah. Vote for Taylor.

Speaking of, Dom's on another show tonight. Or I should say another late-night show tonight. Talk about unfair. One of these days I will be able to stay up as late as I want. Or get a TiVo. One or the other.

And I forgot to say that Cate Blanchett turned 37 on Sunday. Bad me. Very bad me. I don't know why I am talking in short sentences like this. Whatever. Bleah.

First off, I'd like to wish a happy sixteenth to Emma Watson. I totally knew it was her birthday. It didn't have anything to do with my reading it in the paper this morning. *whistles*

Also, vacation started yesterday. Yay vacation! So I've been watching this anime, Pretear, that my friend lent me. (There should be an accent mark on the first e in Pretear, but I'm too lazy to put one there. ^^;;) It's billed as "The New Legend of Snow White", but I don't see really any connection, except that the Pretear is supposed to turn the snow white and there are seven dudes. Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. So it's about this girl named Himeno and it turns out she'd the Pretear and she has to work with these seven guys called Leafe Knights, four of whom could be accurately described as bishy, who are trying to stop the Princess of Disaster from sucking the Leafe, which is like the life energy, out of everything, and this is probably a really confusing run-on sentence. Meh, just watch it. I'm on the seventh episode and I think it's pretty good. Plus it has a really catchy theme song that I'm trying to memorize only it's in Japanese so that makes it harder.

Oh, lookie, I made an artPad. http://artpad.art.com/?ixpvpfdkx5o

I didn't really have anything to post, but I feel like I wouldn't be doing my duty if I didn't inform you that Sean Astin turns 35 today. Well, I'm going to go watch the first two DVDs of The Dom Show, which I rented. Yay.

I thought I was going to have to take the SATs today (because my parents want me to go to "smart camp"), but apparently I'm not. So I am free to sit here and say random things to you.

Lest I forget, I'd better give a shout-out to Elijah Wood, who turns 25 today.

Did you know people actally ship real people? :O I don't even mean anything that could actually happen. I'm talking Dom/Elijah, Viggo/Orlando, that sort of pairing. That's wrong, yo. But the fanart makes it so right.

Oh, and I saw a commercial for this movie with Harrison Ford in it. He looks so old! I know the last time I saw him he was 30 years younger, but still...it's weird how they grow up so fast. Still can't believe that guy was the Viggo Mortensen of his day. Anyway...
vethica: (Default)
I tried to control myself, I really did. But I failed. I mean, it's not like it's going to be a long post or anything. It'll actually be pretty short. And it would be even shorter if I stopped telling you about what I was going to post and actually posted it.

Okay, so I was watching Lost last night (a Dom-centric episode, whee! ^^ Although I didn't get to see all of it) and there was this one part when he went "Bloody hell", and I was all "OMG, he is Ron!" Because of my and O.A.'s Ron-is-Dom-is-Dumbledore conspiry, remember? ...Yeah.

AARGH.

So, the Dom Show was on last night, AND it was on at a decent time, AND it was an episode that actally had Dom in it, AND I'd finished my homework, and so I turn on the channel and THE BLASTED THING DOESN'T WORK. *kills a random person*

I realized all I talk about on here is Dom. (I wonder if I'm obsessed or something?) My readers must be bored out of their heads, all two of you.
vethica: (Default)
Well, actually, I really don't mind all that much. Anyway, he turns 29 today! Happy birthday, Dom. 29 really isn't that old, is it? I mean, he and I have less age difference than Viggo and Liv had, although considering the age difference of their characters, maybe that's not the best example. (Don't even, by the way, get me started on Viggo. He absolutely can't be 48. It's impossible. Doesn't look it at all.) Maybe we could get married. In Canadia. Everything's better there.

I was going to post a bad song parody in honor of Dom, but it's much too late. The only reason I'm even posting this is because I didn't want to be accused of forgetting his birthday. I may post the parody later. If I remember.

(NOTE: I do not actually intend to marry Dom, in Canada or elsewhere. At least not for a few years.) (Also, to any Canadians who may read this, I apologize for saying "Canadia". I do know the actual name, honest.)

So I watched The Dom Show last night. (That's "Lost", for those who don't know.) Well, the last about 25 minutes of it, to be specific. And in spite of what Shad says (:P to you, Shad), I thought it was quite good (and no, not just because of Dom; Dom was only on for about 30 seconds, so there). The episode was rated for "violence". There wasn't that much, but I don't know if this is the exception to the norm or the norm to the exception, or whether it was all just in the first half of the show. I should probably watch more of the show some other time when I don't have school the following Thursday. I wish they'd show it at a more accessible time. Is it out on DVD? I should rent it and then I can watch it from the beginning anyway.

Next time I'll make a post that's actually relevant to something. Unless I don't.

I just found out that National French Week ended on Tuesday and I missed it. Well, other than those lyrics in the subject, I can't speak a word of French anyway.

So O.A. and I were talking the other day, and we came up with a conspiry. (Yes, I know the word is "conspiracy".) See, Dom Monaghan has three middle names (Bernard Patrick Luke), and so has Dumbledore (Percival Wulfric Brian). So Dom is really Dumbledore. So if it's true, as some people claim, that Dumbledore is really Ron from the future or some such, then Ron is Dom and Dom is Ron, and so Ron is a hobbit! And Bob is awesome and Paul is dead, and I am the walrus. Goo goo g'joob.

On an almost (but not completely) unrelated note, is it possible to get ink poisoning from writing on your hands?
