First, a plug: [livejournal.com profile] tehseto, who is an awesome icon maker, is taking requests again! So if you have an image that you want an icon made of, now is the time. :D You have to be watching her account to request one, but if you don't want to do that, you can give me the image and I'll put in the request. But you should definitely not miss this opportunity. :B

Next... um. Ordered a wig today. Looks like I'm going through with that whole cosplaying Graham thing... if it gets here in time, that is. :|a Apart from that and buying the other costume parts I need, the hardest part will be making the wrench. I've found a cosplay.com thread from someone with the same problem, and hopefully I'll be able to follow the advice they were given. For some reason I really want to do this cosplay. I just hope I can pull it off. D:

Also, was watching the Tonys last night, saw Mackenzie Crook, squeed like it was four years ago. Guess I'm not entirely over that crush. :| (He's still cute though. Geez, Mr. Crook, stop doing that.)

Day 11: Who do you think wore the goggles best? (WARNING: a few images) )

OK. [livejournal.com profile] bsergurl and I have been having a bit of an argument, and I thought you guys might be able to help settle it. So...who's more attractive, this or that? ([livejournal.com profile] bsergurl, if you happen to read this...you can't vote. :P)

Also: would you name a kid Tu Morrow? Seriously?

I realized that I haven't yet commented on it being Mackenzie's birthday. So although I think it's already tomorrow in the UK, happy 36th, Mackenzie! :D

Also, I know YouTube comments aren't exactly the place to go if you want an intelligent debate, but dang, I never realized there was so much hate between fans of the UK and US Offices. Dudes, they're both awesome, get over it. :|

The Office spoilers...but oh, what spoilers they are. )

Sorry to keep leaving again, but now we'll be going on vacation for two weeks. D: I may or may not be able to update from there, but ehhh. Sorry.

Spoilers for about page 2 of DH, but some people are sensitive... )

Also, finally got around to watching "Goths" two days ago. Grishnack is love, and that is all. Although one wonders why he's named himself after an orc (Grishnákh) - they're not particularly goth, are they? (Further research has shown that he may have taken the name from one "Count Grishnackh", a musician, murderer and racist. I hope it's the former.)

Also, today is yesterday was (the historical) Macbeth's 950th deathday. Keep it real, Mac.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go watch The Office. I mean, eat dinner. Then watch The Office. ("Well, have a nap...THEN fire ze missiles!")

Camp was fun and I miss it. So many cool people. So many cool stuff. ;_;

Also, if anyone had any doubts of how much of a freak I am, I have cast the main characters of The Office to the song "Piano Man". Yyyep.
(Piano Man = Jim; old man = David Brent; John = Tim; Paul = Dawn; Davy = Gareth; waitress = Pam; businessman = Michael; manager = Dwight.)

Having seen my first episode (although not the first episode) of the US Office the other day, these are my first thoughts on the differences between the two:
  • It seems like they made it a little more like a sitcom and a little less like a documentary. I guess that's what they had to do for the American audiences, so I'm not complaining. Cultural differences and all.
  • Michael is, I have heard, the reason to watch the US version, and I can see that. He's certainly more likable than David Brent, although whether he is funnier, I couldn't say. (Then again, a rock could probably be funnier than David Brent.)
  • Dwight is great. Dwight is quirky in a Napoleon Dynamite-esque way and a complete geek. The guy posts his theories about LOST on his blog, for Pete's sake. Dwight is the kind of guy I would want to have as a friend. Gareth, however, is the kind I would want as a boyfriend. (I don't know how much of this is due to their physical differences; I've tried being objective on this front and failed miserably.)
  • Jim is not as cute as Tim and never will be. And he tries too hard.
  • Pam is fairly cute, though. I'll give her that.

Also, Gareth and Tim are THE Rod and Nicky. Someone needs to make a video of that.

The Merchant of Venice needed more Mackenzie. I know that they had to make some reductions for the sake of plot, but his part was significantly larger in the original play. But what there was was adorable, so I'm not complaining too much. Launcelot had a total thing for Jessica and that was so cute. *wibble* AND he is the only person in the world who can make the weasel mustache hot. Srsly you guys.

Rest of the movie: I have it on good authority that [livejournal.com profile] bsergurl was quite pleased with Joseph Fiennes's performance as Bassanio. Personally, I think he looked his best in this movie (i.e., with long hair). I mean, he was even sporting a couple Padawan-braid-type braids at one point. That's good stuff. Jeremy Irons is always awesome, and was only slightly less so because I kept picturing him in Eragon. Curse you, Paolini. Also, Antonio is totally gay for Bassanio, and for once this isn't just my slashaholism talking; many very smart people agree. Score. And Bassanio is pretty gay back. I mean, they even kiss on the mouth at one point. ON THE MOUTH, PEOPLE. (The director and Mr. Irons disagree with this view, you say? What do they know?) And, of course, Al Pacino as Shylock did the villain/victim angle very well. You have to feel sorry for the guy. As for the girls, Portia really likes to mess with people, and Nerissa throwing stuff at Gratiano? WIN.

So I'm gunna try to watch this movie again before it goes back to the library. And I don't usually want to watch movies again, so that gives you an idea of how good it is.

The Wayside School animated series, on the other hand, could have been done a lot better.

Recap of the past two weeks: saw At Worlds End, got out of school, developed a huge crush on Mackenzie Crook. (Not in that order.) The last one is the one you need to know about for this entry.

A rant which is very whiny but which I think is fairly justified; read at your own peril )

On the plus side of this obsession, [livejournal.com profile] bsergurl and I found a movie that stars both our interests. Hers is Joseph Fiennes (Ralph's brother), and the movie is The Merchant of Venice (2004 version). We even found a picture that has both of them in it. (MACKENZIE HAS A WEASEL MUSTACHE AND HE MAKES IT LOOK HOT :D) So anyway we're gonna watch it today, although we probably won't be able to hear it for our squeeing. Yeah.
