Jul. 13th, 2009 05:55 pmStill don't have anything to post. I was going to craft a humorous writeup of our group's first D&D session a week ago, but then I remembered that I can't write. So the condensed version is, we had a cleric with no common sense (who ended up being the party's tank), a wizard who didn't know anything, a bard with terrible social skills (though at least she could find north), and a monk who didn't really do much of anything. And a DM who had to put up with our stupidity. Also we were fighting Missingno cultists. Which is kind of awesome.

May. 21st, 2009 08:57 pmFirst of all, LESS THAN 24 HOURS TILL AB. *hyperventilates* Although I'm not really the most excited right now 'cause I realized I spent a fair amount of time/money on my costumes and they're pretty crappy. Oh well. Costumes are done except Light's shoes, btw. On the plus side, there'll be another Death Note photoshoot on Sunday (although... it may be during Cosplay Chess), and we have a team for Hyakunin Kuizu, which I've never done before, so if we get in, that should be cool. :B
Okay, something else. I just found out that Jian Ghomeshi (formerly of Moxy Früvous (which is a good band, btw; check them out if you like Barenaked Ladies)) is such a cutie. I mean, look at the guy. He's like Zach Braff if someone injected cuteness into him. Also, you know who else famous person is attractive? Johannes Brahms. For serious. (When he was younger, anyway.) Stop being so cute, famous dead composers. :|
Also, I just found out that Ash Ketchum's name in French is Sacha. For some reason that's really cute.

Also, movie rec. I know the recommending movies is more HG's thing, but I gotta say, The Talented Mr. Ripley is a great one. If you like Death Note, odds are you'll like it. It's a psychological thriller about identity stealing and murder, with just enough gay romance to keep it interesting. (Bonus: one of the gay dudes is Jack Davenport.*) No, but it's not just gay dudes. I liked it. You will probably like it. RINGING ENDORSEMENT
* If you don't know who Jack Davenport is, picture this (or this) and add in a voice like Alan Rickman's. Be still my heart. @_@

HAY GUISE I'M NOT DEAD :B
Jun. 19th, 2008 09:38 amA little context here: I'm in school posting on LJ while my friends kill each other in Brawl. Life is sweet. :D
So, what I did during the past month or so: Was emo, wasn't emo, got into more fandoms (Code Geass is AWESOME), got into more webcomics (Order of the Stick is AWESOME). Also, finally watched Quantum Leap for the first time. Where has that show been all my life? (And where has Scott Bakula been all my life? Mmm.)
For those of you who are geeks and wear clothing, I've found some great online stores: ThinkGeek and mental_floss. mental_floss has a smaller collection mainly involving famous dead people, while ThinkGeek has more general geek fare, including popular culture and memes. They're both worth checking out.

Overall, I don't think I had quite as much fun as last year, but that may just be because the novelty's worn off somewhat. :( But not quite as much as really really awesome is...still pretty darn awesome. :D

I just had the creepiest dream. I was Light and I had been found out and I tried to get protection from the Kiraists but then they killed a guy in a really gross way and I was like "wth you guys that's not what Kiraism is all about!" and they were like "you know what we don't actually agree with your ideas anymore so we're going to turn you over [to the general public]." And I was like YOU CAN'T DO THAT I'M KIRA. But they could. And then they [the general public] killed me by covering me with pillows and then jumping on me. They let me do it in a dignified way (which here means "standing up and clutching a Death Note"), but that kind of made it worse. I woke up before I died, but...that seriously scared me. And before that there was some thing where I was...on a train...with Matt. I guess. They got him and I had to escape and that's where I ended up where I was. Also, Vice President-sama was one of the Kiraists. XP
I'll get to last post's meme soon I swear don't kill me (o hay how ironic)

I apologize for the fact that I haven't been updating for a while. Look at it this way: if I had been, it would have mostly been emo-style rants that would have been painful to read. So I've done you guys a favor.
And, if by some freak chance I haven't told you this yet, I got Photoshop! *squee* An older version, but who's complaining? So, as soon as I get any free time (which doesn't seem likely for the next couple weeks), I'll be up and tooling around with it. And yes, Tyma, I'll get that colorbar done. :P
