Saw two awesome movies in the past few days. The first was Summer Wars, which was amazing and touching (I actually cried, which... doesn't happen often). Despite what people say, it really isn't all that similar to Our War Game, apart from the ideas of a rogue AI and impending missiles. It came off as more of a homage than anything. I'm actually planning to get the DVD (and I don't own many DVDs either), if only to see how the dub came out. In conclusion, watch this movie. :B
The second was Atlantis: The Lost Empire, which I've been meaning to watch for forever. It turned out to be another one of those that I should have seen back when it came out, because I found myself being very fond of it. The characters! ♥ I found I could ignore the plot holes, but I did come out thinking that it should have been longer for the sake of character development. If we got to see more of the characters' interactions and growing friendships, I think it would have been a lot more powerful. And Milo should have totally gotten with Audrey. (Also, yeah, huge crush on Milo. He's not the trope picture for Adorkable for nothing. A socially awkward linguist with the voice of Marty McFly, come on, that's not fair.)
Also this meme's been kicking around the flist.
You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out. :)

Also! If any of you guys have an OC that you want icons of,
djinni is doing an icon day again. The art's really cute and tipping is completely optional - and despite the fact that most people request animals, he draws humans just fine too. It closes tomorrow, so if you want to request, do it soon! :D

Aug. 27th, 2010 05:49 pmI promised
alacranita I'd do a post of foreign Disney song recs, so here it is. yaaaaay
( Spoiler: Norwegian Tarzan rules )
Man that took a while. Also I thought I had more songs than this. :|
And, uh, look at what I found while doing this:

Looks like Japanese Fropin is canon. :B
Not much else to report. Worrying about college is taking up most of my time. Also, joined VDex. You know, that Pokémon thing. I doubt I'll keep up with it, but it's fun currently. Obligatory link to my dudes:

Yesterday I was listening to Disney songs in languages, but mostly Icelandic. Today it is languages, but mostly Dutch. Here are a couple good ones I found: ( Recs and commentary! )
Maybe sometime I should do a post of foreign Disney recs, like my one of YTP recs. I'm sure anyone would read it.

Dec. 31st, 2009 03:34 pmI suppose I should do some kind of year-end post. All the cool kids are doing it. Um, I liked 2009 a lot. It was probably one of my favorite years that happened to me. So let's hope 2010 will be even better! :D

Nov. 15th, 2009 11:07 amAnd of course I start watching Bleach again the week after the last Szayel episode before the filler arc. :| I watched it anyway, but mainly for Halibel and her hot Fracción. Mira Rose's voice is a thing of beauty. *_* Now, off to find the Szayel episodes on YouTube.
Yes, I know it's "Mila Rose". It's also "Harribel". (And "Sanderwicci".) Don't make me give up on my dreams, okay? D:
Also, I didn't think it was possible, but I may have found a Disney dub to rival Norwegian Tarzan: European Spanish Nightmare Before Christmas. I am seriously considering buying this CD. I haven't even seen the whole thing in English yet. :|
While we're on the subject, had an incredibly trippy Kingdom Hearts dream last night. I really need to lay off that game for a while.

Aug. 23rd, 2009 08:40 pmSpeaking of Disney movies (we were doing that, right?): I know I'm a loser who only saw about four* of them during her childhood proper, and it's really sad that it took me until yesterday to watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But dang, that is a good movie. I think it just elbowed its way right in there under The Lion King as one of my favorite Disney movies. I mean, the music alone is excellent, but then you add in the characters and the plot and everything, and, wow. Suffice it to say that it's becoming my latest short-term obsession. And I need to acquire the soundtrack. OF COURSE I DON'T NEED TO TELL YOU GUYS THIS STUFF THOUGH BECAUSE YOU ALL HAD NORMAL CHILDHOODS. 8D (Although I have no idea how this movie got away with a G rating. IMO some of the stuff it deals with really isn't for kids. Which, y'know, is part of why I like it. But anyway.)
* Three if you don't count The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as an actual movie.
Also, since I may not get a chance to post something later, I'm leaving again tomorrow for vacation. I'll be back next Tuesday. And then school starts. =_=
P.S. Apparently in Japanese, the @ sign is known as "naruto". This should not be so funny.

Aug. 19th, 2009 10:01 pmHaving begun reading T.H. White's The Once and Future King, I finally realize that Dan Dreiberg was not just being a Disney geek when he named his ship Archimedes. But that will still be my headcanon. Because Dan is totally enough of a dork to do that. (The book is quite good, by the way, and a classic. Just putting that out there.)
I really need to watch The Sword in the Stone sometime. Some kind soul's uploaded it to YouTube, so I don't suppose I have an excuse.
Whyyy are my posts so boring.
