Yesterday I was listening to Disney songs in languages, but mostly Icelandic. Today it is languages, but mostly Dutch. Here are a couple good ones I found:
I Wanna Be Like You (Icelandic) | You've Got a Friend in Me (Icelandic) | One Jump Ahead (Icelandic)
Sound the Bugle (Finnish) | The Court of Miracles (Polish) | Out There (Flemish)
That's How you Know (Dutch) | When You Believe (Dutch) | Strangers Like Me (Dutch)
Okay, "When You Believe" is kind of cheating because that one's always beautiful. (Also it's not Disney but who cares)
I like "Sound the Bugle" (also not Disney) in pretty much any language except English. Maybe it's because I heard the English one pretty late in the game (never actually seen the movie), but dang, do I hate the singer's voice. Sounds like he's got something in his throat. I'm also really not fond of the Icelandic "Bells of Notre Dame". Frollo's (excuse me, Kári's) voice is just... ehhh.
This listening jag has also reinforced my belief that Hebrew is the prettiest language. One of them, anyway.
Maybe sometime I should do a post of foreign Disney recs, like my one of YTP recs. I'm sure anyone would read it.
