NBC ramblings and a meme
A couple parts of the US Office last night made my inner Dwim fangirl squee. Like the part where Dwight goes to put his arm around Jim. Of course, by then Jim had actually left, but that's just a trifling matter. (Oh, wait, wrong Office. Uh...Jim's your biggest flan?) Oh, Dwim. You're like Tim/Gareth, but with more beets.
Also, Dwight reading to Jim and Pam from Harry Potter was pure love. (I would be all up ons Jim/Pam/Dwight, like I am with Tim/Dawn/Gareth, but that would look like I was endorsing Jam too, and I don't do that.)
Speaking of Office pairings/threesomes/what-have-yous...why aren't there more out there than Jim/Pam and Tim/Gareth? Not that I don't love the latter, but seriously, there are 30-something pages on fanfiction.net. And while most of it is good, the US stuff (which is almost the whole section) is pretty much all Jam, with the occasional Man or Dwangela thrown in there for variety. (Have I ever mentioned how much I hate these pairingsmush names? Except "Dwim", because...well, just say it. Dwim Dwim Dwim.) I saw a grand total of one Michael/Pam and one "Dwim if you squint". That was about it. Where's the variety, people? And, like I said, I don't think I've seen any UK Office fic there other than Tim/Gareth, but it's a small fandom and I am quite fond of the pairing, so I'm more inclined to forgive it. Still, I wish they would take a small cue from the US fans: surely Tim/Dawn isn't a worse pairing than Jam, right? And where's my Tim/Dawn/Gareth?
And now for something completely different. Apparently, there will be a show that combines Uri Geller, Criss Angel, and ten magicky people. I'm in two minds about this one. On the one hand, I'm not a big fan of Uri Geller since he hates Pokémon (he claims that they were using his identity unauthorizedly in the form of Kadabra, which is ridiculous - just because the name is a play on his ("Yungera" looks like "Yurigera", or "Uri Geller") doesn't mean the Pokémon is intended to represent him. He ought to be flattered, in my opinion). On the other hand...it looks cool. Phenomenon starts on Wednesday if anyone wanted to know that.
