I've been having some thoughts recently - a rare occurrence - so I decided to commemorate it with an LJ post. An LJ post about my newest fandoms.
So the other day I got The World Ends With You. Man, what a game. A battle system that uses both screens? Crazy! Impossible! And yet it works so well! (Once you get used to it, that is.) You attack with pins, and the food you eat and the clothes you wear are all significant, and it makes no sense, but it makes so much sense. The storyline? I don't want to spoil anything, but you just can't come up with a story like that! And oh, man, the characters. The character design. Ffffff I want to cosplay every single one of them. Except, you know, I couldn't, ever. But maybe they can go on the Characters-I-Want-To-Cosplay-Who-Are-Completely-Out-Of-My-League list. A goal to work towards once I acquire some sewing skillz. And I could always just cosplay one of the ones with a simpler design. The obvious choice here would be Joshua, but I dunno, man, I'm kind of leaning toward Tenho. Not too hard to make the costume of, yet easily recognizable. I could stand in front of doors and tell people they can't get past until they've cleared the Noise... this is sounding more and more appealing.
(Plus, props to the game for making characters you can care about. [Spoiler] made me totally sad, and Joshua ticks me off more than any fictional character in recent memory.)
So, a couple questions. First, O.A., are we still on for Ness and Lucas? Because if so, we'd better get cracking, considering Anime Boston's getting closer every month. If not, well...
And second, is there a site like Court Records for TWEWY? You know, a complete repository with all the sprites and artwork and everything? I do know there's a wiki, and that might be what I'm looking for, but I could only take a perfunctory look so as not to avoid spoilers. If there's a better site, someone let me know.
I've also recently begun reading Vampire Knight, and, inevitably, I happened to spot a few similarities with a certain other popular vampire series that shall not be named. However, I'm pleased to report that the comparison is favorable to Vampire Knight.
Similarities:
- In both series, the main character is a human girl who is romantically involved with a vampire boy.
- In both series, the vampires are secretive, beautiful people.
Differences:
- In Vampire Knight, the vampires are actually attractive.
- In Vampire Knight, the vampires actually suck human blood.
- In Vampire Knight, the vampires do not sparkle.
And man, are they attractive. I could seriously fall for... well, I was going to say Kaname, but pretty much any of them, really. Fffffffffffffff.
Also, I'm really in love with the art style. I'm almost afraid to watch the anime to see if they could keep it up in animation. It's... really pretty. *_*
Also, Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to you too!

Well, in VK there's more of a triangle thing going on, isn't there? (Yes, I know the more recent plot seems to be aiming more in one direction than the other, but you said that you'd just begun reading anyway.)
- In both series, the vampires are secretive, beautiful people.
...As they are in most vampire series out there nowadays.
- In Vampire Knight, the vampires are actually attractive.
...Actually, I've got nothing to add to this, because it's so true.
- In Vampire Knight, the vampires actually suck human blood.
The Night Class theoretically doesn't need to, since they have blood tablets. (Then again, we have no idea how those things are made...)
- In Vampire Knight, the vampires do not sparkle.
Aidou-senpai's pretty sparkly though, isn't he...? Then again, it's a shoujo manga-- we have to have at least one guy who can produce copious amounts of sparkles at will! (...Darnit, now I'm picturing an Ouran crossover for some reason XD)
Ichijou too, while we're at it:

The anime is okay, but... they seem to have a habit of saving up their animation budget for the last episode of the season. On the plus side, the voice acting is amazing (see Shad's and my comments on Miyano arguing with himself-- this goes double for VKG ep. 11, which I have not actually seen yet but hear was spectacular). Oh, and the opening/ending themes are really good too. *goes off to listen to Rondo a few thousand more times*
Re: Happy New Year to you too!
Yeah, well, assuming it won't turn into a threesome (which... you never know), I figured she'd end up with one or the other and shortened it for convenience.
...As they are in most vampire series out there nowadays.
Eh, I'll give you that one; I haven't read too much vampire stuff recently, so what do I know. (I think I was trying to focus on the idea that they're a "group" of... ehhh my brain is hurting I don't know)
The Night Class theoretically doesn't need to, since they have blood tablets. (Then again, we have no idea how those things are made...)
But at least they do on occasion, right?

Well, yes, but there's a difference between shoujo sparkles and SPARKLING IN THE FRIGGIN' SUNLIGHT. Come on, Meyer.
Re: Happy New Year to you too!
Oh yeah, I forgot that (even better) possibility.
But at least they do on occasion, right?
Yep. And I forgot-- they also drink from each other :D Who needs mountain lions, of all things?
Oh, and another comparison (that is only very vaguely spoilery): In VK, a human who dies is actually dead. No last-minute-turning bull (...much as I might wish it for the character in question).

7DaysLimit is an all-around good site
The Sprite Database has all the game sprites, though you'll have to scroll way down to find them
This TWEWY Wiki has a ton of basic game info. It's the one I use, it might be the same one you found, but I'm almost sure there's very few if any spoilers
Here is a good screencap gallery, with spoilers out the wazoo of course
Anything else you're looking for?
