(no subject)

They don't tell you how hard it is to get back into posting on Livejournal after month-long hiatuses (hiatūs?). They should, but they don't. And the fact that I have things like Tumblr, Gaia, Lang-8, Sims, and, of course, schoolwork to take my mind away from it doesn't help matters.

If it makes you feel any better, my life hasn't been all that interesting. I've been in school, studying basically the same things I was studying last year. I'm now a linguistics minor in addition to a Japanese major, so there's that. Also, there is the fact that I will be studying abroad in Japan next year. Which, ngl, is pretty awesome. :D

I haven't really gotten into any new fandoms either. Except ASoIaF/Game of Thrones and Gankutsuou, which both happened this summer... yeesh, it's been that long. (e: OH WAIT I FORGOT LYCHEE LIGHT CLUB wow I suck. Yeah, Lychee Light Club too. Also that reminds me to say hello to my new f!s friending meme friends [livejournal.com profile] astrokittie and [livejournal.com profile] tasogare_n_hime. Hi! c:) I haven't left any of my old fandoms either, and I just got bit bad by the Baccano! bug so if I start posting regularly on here again it will probably involve a lot of squeeing about that show. Just like old times. :D

Which I suppose is as good a segue as any. I'd originally planned to make a post a couple weeks ago to tell y'all to go vote in [livejournal.com profile] animetournament, but then I never did and by now we're down to the top 12 and my boy Jacuzzi got knocked out of the running so it's a bit late to make any exhortations to that effect. You can still vote though if you want to. :B No, the main reason for my post right now is this: who all is going to Anime Boston? Because I know some of you live around here or at least make it here for cons, and let's face it, we need to meet up. The really cool thing is I'll be cohosting a panel this year ("How Is This Con Different From All Other Cons? An Otaku Passover"), so if you want to stop by and say hi, I will be the one up there who doesn't have facial hair. Or if you just see me around the con, I'll probably be cosplaying Graham Specter all three days, and if you don't know who that is, look for the giant wrench. :B

So there is that, and also, I guess, what is going on in your lives even if you are not going to AB. I HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW TO END LJ POSTS

Omg I just got into GoT myself. It's so... Entertaining. I wouldn't necessarily say it's good but oh god it's so much fun to watch. So. Much. Fun. I plowed through most of the first season in the past few days and I'm gonna finish it/catch up to where S2 is tonight once I finish off some work.

AND YAY BACCANNO! And Litchi/Lychee. It's my precious baby. ;A; And Gankutsuou, which I really, really want to rewatch. For a while I used to read the novel every summer, but it'd probably save me time to just watch Gankutsuou. :U

It really is hard to get back into posting. I just can't bring myself to care.

Not much has been going on in my life either (although I'm partly saying this because I'm too lazy to go into everything I already wrote in my LJ :P), so I wouldn't feel too bad about it. I've taken a hiatus from Tumblr, though; it was seriously eating up my life and wasn't as fun as it used to be, so I needed to step away from it for a bit. And I've been meaning to get into GoT for the longest time now, but I keep on forgetting/being lazy about it. Ugh. >_>

Studying linguistics sounds interesting, and congrats on studying abroad in Japan next year! :D

BTW, are you still up for Dominion sometime?

Ah, I was almost a linguistics minor myself, but I'd have to take all the courses for it at other schools. I think I made it 3/4 of the way to minor before deciding against it, oops. Congrats; linguistics is really shiny! And on study abroad as well; that sounds fabulous.

As usual, was planning on going to AB until stuff came up - I'd have to go up on Saturday (including waiting in LineCon 2012 because their preregistration site didn't work for me) and come back Sunday, and that is just Not Worth It. Maybe one of these years. @__@

(Should probably also post sometime, but... LJ doesn't always work right on school computers. DW does, so it is so much more inviting.)

And now I wonder how come I never knew that you're studying the same thing that I'm planning to o_O From what I gather you're a Japanese and Linguistics student, right? I'm not quite sure how it works in the US though, with these minor/major things x)
So since I'm thinking of studying the Japanese language and as ever I'm full of doubts maybe you could enlighten me on how wonderful or not your studies are? My aim is to study in the UK but still your opinion of the subject would be a great help *o*
