digivolution, t_funster, tadashi_chan): HI NEW FRIENDS :B I'm planning on going back through and trying to add some more people, so expect a HI NEW FRIENDS PART 2 at some point later I guess, but I hope you guys can hang out while waiting for the rest of 'em to get here. So yes, this is an example of a typical post from me! Also I don't think I've posted it here before, but I'm vethica on AIM too if you or anyone else wants to message me. It's always nice to add people to my woefully small buddy list.
So, sorry for not having been updating. Haven't had too much to talk about, I guess. While I was home my life was being eaten by The Sims 3 (remind me to post pictures sometime), and now that I am at school it is being eaten by school. I'd forgotten how miserable I get when school happens. The night I got back I was just feeling too crappy and unmotivated to do any work, so I did not get any work done and stayed up till 5 anyway. \o/ So I'm not proud, but I'm working on doing better. Hopefully it will be a reminder of what not to do the rest of the semester. Hopefully.
On a Homestuck note: I don't have much to say about the latest updates, mainly because everything I wanted to say has probably been said by other people. Pretty much all I have is this: The deaths didn't affect me as much as they should have, but Gamzee was another matter. You all know how attached I am to the guy, and it's killing me to see him like this. x_x I am hoping there is some kind of way for him to get back to normal, even if it is just shoving a sopor slime pie down his throat. In the meantime... I miss you, Past Gamzee. ♥ Buuuut I did go and translate the kids' and trolls' Sburb titles into Latin while I was supposed to be doing my actual homework. I think they look pretty cool! (Spoilers for Gamzee's title.)
Couple bullets/cool things:
- Apparently there is a word for "witch" (venefica) that also has the meaning of "jade", which would be awesome except it appears to be the more sinister type of witch. Saga seemed more of a catch-all (it's what Sabrina the Teenage Witch is).
- Didn't know if "maid" meant an actual maid or a maiden, but the latter would have had me calling Aradia "Virgo", so actual maid it is. Besides, famula has the nice alternate meaning of "temple attendant".
- The fact that Nepeta is the Furcifer is legitimately the best thing ever. (Or should I say :33 < furcifur?)
- The normal word for "thief" would be fur, but considering praedo also means "pirate"... I really couldn't not. (Besides, Nepeta already got the fur joke.)
- Lol, inanis.
This has the added bonus that now I will never forget any of their titles.
Also, reading abouthiimdaisy's hiatus, while sad, has inspired me to go back and reread the comics. I'd forgotten how funny they were. Seriously, the lady's a comedic genius. I also discovered that they have some amazing fandubs. (But on the downside now I will be sad if I ever play a Persona game because they could never live up to these versions.)
Finally: I am going to Webcomics on Ice* this weekend! HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE COOL and I can glare at Andrew Hussie for spoiler. :B

ohgosh, I didn't even realise the double/PROBABLY MORE OBVIOUS ACTUALLY meaning of that until I was halfway done typing it. For me, it's Kanaya. OTL But "Furcifer" is so perfect, and in general I am squeeing over TRANSLATOR NOTES and ooh shiny language nuances!I think I need an intervention for the amount of language geeking I do. And striketext.Aaah, nowhere actually says what that event is... just that it's not actually anything on ice, and a lot of webcomic people will be there. (Or maybe I've just been failing google since Hussie posted about it. Wouldn't be surprised.)

Aaaahh thank you I am glad my ridiculousness inspired language squeeing! :D I can post the Spanish one too if you want, but that one's much less cool. (Although it does give us the excellent Ladrón de Luz and Vidente de Mente.)
Also if too much language geeking is wrong then I do not want to be right. :|Yeah, I think there's a little more information on the Facebook page. From what I can gather it seems to be mostly playing arcade games. But it is playing arcade games with webcomic artists! :B

Mannn, Gamzee. Oh Gamzee. Yeah, his sudden shift was really disorienting for me. He's not one of my favorite characters, personally, but it's really unsettling, especially since he's so much more unpredictable now?? We have no idea what he's gonna do next and that scares me. D8
But Kanaya's death hit me hardest out of all the ones recently, not gonna lie. I was finally starting to really like her and then BAM, killed off. :( I'm wondering if Andrew has some sort of secret agenda with this whole bloodbath though.
OOOH LATIN it's kind of fascinating how much more mythological things sound when in Latin; For some reason I'm really liking Heres Spiritus, but furcifer has got to be the coolest thing ever LOL.

Yeah I know, suddenly all the titles got like +10 to epicness. Heres Spiritus is a cool name! Probably because breath and spirit are the same word in Latin, or something. I cannot even pick a favorite, though I find myself fond of Princeps Spei.
