Wow this is a really long post.

I did some stuff this weekend but I waited too long so now I don't remember it too well so I can't talk about it. x_x And I friended [livejournal.com profile] abc_icons because I wanted to feel like I had more friends. And because it's a cool community. I had friended [livejournal.com profile] 10variations, but I had to unfriend it becuase all the posts were clogging my friendslist and the big pictures were murder on my dial-up. Still a good comm though.

Everyone was going off on me today at school because I drew a Gaara/Lee picture. Shad and Raven hated the thought of Gaara with anyone else, O.A. just can't imagine Lee with anybody (except me, apparently), and I'm not sure why Maddog didn't like it, but she didn't. Then there were the homophobes who were just "EWW BOYS KISSING." To quote HG, stupid homophobes. I dunno why everyone hates the ship. It's so dang cute! I think I've found a new OTP. (Yes, I'm aware that that makes three OTPs. Shut up.)

Relatedly, I think I need a Naruto guy. I mean, Shad has Gaara, Raven has Sasuke and Gaara, Maddog has Kakashi, Freeglader has Sasori, Rekka has Orochimaru, and O.A. has that Kimimario guy. (She used to have Kabuto, but Rekka made her give him up so she could kill him. Everyone seems to hate the poor helmet-head for some reason.) But I've never really felt strongly about any of them. O.A. thinks I like Lee, but I'm just not sure. He's adorable and all, but I don't know if he's the type of guy I want to spend the rest of my life with. Maybe I should listen to Rekka and define my parameters, but it really depends on the guy, dunnit.

In happier news, we got a printer. And I was in fact able to watch "Reality Trip", albeit a rerun. Most of it was pretty good, but dude, dei ex machinis are not your friend. Well, off to study some more. Or not.

I'm going to post a review for "Reality Trip" here, cause I feel like posting one somewhere, and I also want you to see my review, so where better than on your LJ? :P

-----------------------

I've been accusing myself of blasphemy every time I think about this, but I actually don't think this episode was all that great. I mean, the cross-country trip and the roller coaster thing and those parts were exciting and all, but the rest of it I wasn't all that happy with. For one, I know it would have totally changed the series and made it completely different (more than any other development) if Danny hadn't made everyone forget, and I actually did predict a deus ex machina as soon as I first heard of the episode, but I didn't want him to change it back. I don't know why really...I guess I just thought it was time for everyone to know, or something like that. And the only reason he did it was because of the guys in white*. His parents were totally understanding (with the classic "I love you for you" speech), and he was popular**, and now he didn't have to hide it anymore, which I'd imagine would be a total relief for him; he could "go ghost" whenever he needed to, without having to duck into the girls' bathroom or wherever (I don't think that's happened yet, but I just know it'll happen sometime), and a zillion other good things would have happened or did happen.

The other thing that really bothered me was Valerie. I know there's only a certain amount of stuff that can go into an episode (not just time-wise), and I don't think it would have been a good concept because the public knowledge thing was temporary, but I still think there was a major plothole in the fact that we didn't even see Valerie at all, and that would've been a major point, because she really likes Danny (Fenton) in both ways, and Danny (Phantom) ruined her life (not on purpose though...if the public knowledge thing had stayed, hopefully he would've had a chance to explain everything to everyone...not the point), and she would've been totally conflicted and torn apart and all that stuff, and I just felt that it was a major hole, even if it wouldn't be good to put it in because of the temporary-ness thing and the too-many-concepts-in-one-episode thing.

The only satisfying thing about this episode ("satisfying" is NOT to be confused with "good", because the goings-on were good, just not the concepts) was that I finally learned that Freakshow is in fact human, and I was confused about that.

*The guys in white, in my opinion, are complete idiots. Not just for their incompetency (which is a trait shared by almost everyone else in the show), but for their inability to realize that Danny's not evil...actually, I don't think they care if he's evil or not; they just care that he's a ghost.

**The popularity wouldn't have been a good thing if it were the least bit superficial. Everyone liked him because he'd been helping them all the time and stuff. It wasn't just a "cool, he's a ghost!" thing.

-----------------------

Hmm...I think this review is actually pretty good (as a review). I'm going to go post it on TV.com...I haven't checked other people's reviews yet, but I feel like I'm going to get a lot of disagreements, seeing as this is a major episode of an awesome show, but oh well, it's my opinion.

That review is hecka long. You should post it on your LJ or somethin' so more people can read it.

I'd think ducking into the girls' bathroom would hinder him a bit because then the girls would be all "Hey there's a guy in here!" and then he'd have to get out of there quickly and find somewhere else to change. But maybe he would have gone in there by mistake because he thought it was the guys' bathroom. Maybe he needs glasses. I think Danny with glasses would be cute.

But yeah. He shouldn't have made everyone forget. Not cool.

Well, not on purpose, obviously. It'd be like, he'd be in a hurry and not thinking about much except for what he needs to do (which is always the case when the ghost appears while he's in public), and he'd just run into the first room he saw, and it'd happen to be the girls' bathroom. It happens a lot in shows containing humor...you know, it'd be like that.

"Wow this is a really long post."

Wow my comment was longer. (I think that's the longest comment I've ever made...but it wasn't really a comment so much as a TV review...whatevs.)

But what I was going to say in the first place before I got distracted with my "Reality Trip" review was: If you want an OTP, clickie the link: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13639025 Cid and VO forever! :D By default, when someone does something everyone thinks is really cool and is instantly worshipped by everyone, my jealousy problem makes an entrance, and this time I barely even felt it, let alone showed it, so that's how you know it's a REALLY REALLY REALLY good story! :D There's a sequel too, it's linked in the first post, I haven't read it yet (or what there is of it so far...obviously it's not finished; this fanfic is fanfic-style, which means it updates with one part at a time.)

Cool. I'm not sure who that Cid dude is, but cool.

It's a girl with a guy avvie. (I REALLY hate it when people do that. I'd make exceptions for transgender-ness of course, but I've never seen that be the cause, and it's EXTREMELY IRRITATING. I dunno why. Just is. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!)
