Oh, man. This was a terrible week for homework. And sleep. The most sleep I got was six hours. And it doesn't look like this weekend will be much better. A long weekend and everything. D: D: D:

But somewhere in the middle of all this madness I did get to watch the first episode of the Ouran dub (yes, late Vethie is late orz). Now, normally I don't have quite as high standards for dubs as some people do, but even still I was very impressed. ( Holy crap this review is long. )

Okay, so. Tobias is blond. It says so every time they describe him as a human, and the descriptions don't vary too much between books. Blond and really messy hair, right? So, why come on every single one of his book covers, the model is a brunette? And Christopher Ralph was cute and all, but he had brown hair too. So thanks to them, I've only just realized that I've been going around with the wrong mental image of the guy for years now. D:

Also: why are the two most attractive women in Harvest Moon: Rune Factory ineligible? I would totally marry either Sabrina or Lady Ann (or both :P), but apparently because they have kids, they're off-limits. But they're single! ...D: I guess I'll keep trying my hand with Tabatha. Not like I have any friendship or love points with her or anyone else in the town, of course. I give people fish every day - what's a guy gotta do? Is it 'cause my name's in all caps? D:

Spell check thinks "Sabrina" should be "Serbian". Interesting.

Sorry to keep leaving again, but now we'll be going on vacation for two weeks. D: I may or may not be able to update from there, but ehhh. Sorry.

The Merchant of Venice needed more Mackenzie. I know that they had to make some reductions for the sake of plot, but his part was significantly larger in the original play. But what there was was adorable, so I'm not complaining too much. Launcelot had a total thing for Jessica and that was so cute. *wibble* AND he is the only person in the world who can make the weasel mustache hot. Srsly you guys.

Rest of the movie: I have it on good authority that bsergurl was quite pleased with Joseph Fiennes's performance as Bassanio. Personally, I think he looked his best in this movie (i.e., with long hair). I mean, he was even sporting a couple Padawan-braid-type braids at one point. That's good stuff. Jeremy Irons is always awesome, and was only slightly less so because I kept picturing him in Eragon. Curse you, Paolini. Also, Antonio is totally gay for Bassanio, and for once this isn't just my slashaholism talking; many very smart people agree. Score. And Bassanio is pretty gay back. I mean, they even kiss on the mouth at one point. ON THE MOUTH, PEOPLE. (The director and Mr. Irons disagree with this view, you say? What do they know?) And, of course, Al Pacino as Shylock did the villain/victim angle very well. You have to feel sorry for the guy. As for the girls, Portia really likes to mess with people, and Nerissa throwing stuff at Gratiano? WIN.

So I'm gunna try to watch this movie again before it goes back to the library. And I don't usually want to watch movies again, so that gives you an idea of how good it is.

The Wayside School animated series, on the other hand, could have been done a lot better.

On an unrelated note, O.A. and I have discovered the awesomeness that is Shakespeare slash. Hamlet/Horatio, Hamlet/Laertes, Romeo/Mercutio, Romeo/Benvolio, Romeo/Mercutio/Benvolio...so wrong and yet so darn right. (Also, Juliet/Tybalt. Not slash, but it is cousincest. :D) Most of the blame goes to the "Manga Shakespeare" GNs I bought this weekend. But what can I say? The guys are hot. (Glasses!Paris! *swoon)

In television: American Idol last night was severely disappointing. First no Tony Bennett, and then no more Gina. WHY. ;_; Lost, on the other hand, now has canon handcuffs.

So I guess the lesson here is, memes need to be their own post. (O.A., I'm surprised you didn't get #5. Or #2, for that matter.)

Hanataro (from Bleach) is "Dr. Mario". Byakuya (from same) is "Corrugated Cardboard Head". Itachi is "Poke Man". And Usa-chan is Naruto's mom. Confused yet?

Quick American Idol opinions: I really like Sanjaya's hair, but he either needs to pick it up (a LOT) or get voted out. I like the two Chris's, too. Phil, like the similarly bald Chris Daughtry, seems destined to be a fan favorite. And Blake is just amazing.
